Following the step-by-step photos and video will help walk you through the easy process of making the best chakli with rice flour and besan from scratch.

Here are a few suggestions for making them crispy and the perfect snack-

  • Do not use chickpeas flour. Use gram flour made from chana dal or Bengal gram for the desired results in this recipe.
  • The oil temperature and frying method are the critical steps while making them. Suggest you first heat the oil on a high flame, and once the oil is medium hot, reduce it to medium. Add a few of them, and reduce the gas flame to low. Allow them to fry for a few minutes, and do not touch them. Then flip and fry till they turn golden in color. They will be crispy and crunchy.
  • Make a premix and store it in the fridge for months. To keep outside, prepare the premix without butter. When needed, add butter and make them.
  • This recipe is a gluten-free recipe. You may add asafoetida to this recipe.

I have already posted the poha chakli recipe previously on my website. Make these crispy and healthy snacks with a few ingredients readily available in your pantry – rice flour, roasted chana gram, flattened rice (poha), and some common spices. But I wanted to post a simpler variation with rice powder and gram flour.
