1tspBaking powder
Salt as per taste
1tsp Rock Salt
1tspChat masala
1tspRed Chilli Powder
¼tsp Mango Powder
Instructions
Add 1 cup of chana dal, 1 tsp of baking soda, and water in a mixing bowl. Mix all the ingredients.
Soak the chana dal overnight.
The next day try to break the chana dal with your finger into two halves. If it breaks easily, the dal is perfect for frying. Else soak it for some more time.
Wash the dal once or twice nicely with water.
Spread it on a clean cloth for 10 minutes to dry completely.
Pat dry with a cloth to ensure there is no moisture left.
Gently drop it in a medium hot oil. Stir continuously and fry the dal on a medium to high flame until golden.
After 5 to 10 minutes, the dal will start floating in the oil with bubbles reduced.
Using a strainer, remove the dal from the oil.
Place it on a kitchen towel to remove the excess oil.
Add salt, 1 tsp rock salt, 1 tsp chat masala, 1 tsp red chili powder, and ¼ tsp mango powder when the dal is hot. Mix all the ingredients well.
Enjoy as an evening dry snack, in chaat, or with tea.
