Ingredients
1cupWheat flour
1cupMelted Ghee
1cup Sugar
2cups Water
½tsp Cardamom powder
Nuts for garnishing
Instructions
Add 1 cup of melted ghee to a pan and let the ghee heat up.
Gradually add 1 cup of wheat flour, stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
Roast on a low flame until the mixture turns golden brown.
The mixture will turn aromatic and release the ghee, indicating the flour has roasted well.
Gradually add 2 cups of water, stirring continuously.Tip*- Do not add water at once; the mixture is hot and may overspill from the pan.
Stir and cook until the mixture absorbs the water.
Add 1 cup of sugar and mix well.
Stir and cook till the sugar dissolves. The mixture will turn slightly dark brown due to the sugar.
Add ½ tsp of cardamom powder and mix all the ingredients well.
A perfect halwa is when the mixture releases ghee at the end.
