How to make Kesar Peda Recipe with Milk Powder
Kesar Peda is a soft milky sweet mainly made from dried whole milk (Mawa or khoya) that originated in Mathura. Pedas are the most common sweet served during festivals or occasions in India. It is easy to make them. Kesar peda is just a mawa / khoya and sugar blend, flavored with cardamom or saffron and garnished with pistachios. Malai and Mawa Pedas are soft and have a creamy texture, and they melt in your mouth. Many peda flavors have been introduced – chocolate peda, mango peda, strawberry peda but I always like the mawa Peda or kesar peda made of khoya, milk powder, or milk.
Traditionally, this Indian sweet recipe was made by boiling the milk for hours until the milk became completely solid. This process is time-consuming and tedious. Attention is also required to ensure the milk doesn’t burn. Nowadays, we get ready-made khoya. But you can be made it at home with milk powder. It is pretty simple. Many people make them in the microwave in 10 minutes, but I generally don’t prefer this method.
Today at Indi Kitchen, we will share Kesar Peda – Instant Recipe with milk powder in 15 minutes. This is a four ingredients recipe – Milk powder, sugar, milk, and fresh cream. Fresh cream makes the pedas soft and delicious. You can’t resist having more than one.
