Delicious Masala Chaas Recipe – Smoked Buttermilk
Chaas is a yogurt-based drink popular in India. Though Chaas and Lassi are yogurt-based drinks, they are not the same.
Chaas is more dilute than Lassi. Lassi is usually sweet and thick. Nowadays, lassis in different flavors are available in the market.
Salty Chaas taste delightful, and salt is the primary and most common seasoning in Chaas. You can drink plain chaas with salt or masala chaas prepared with spices and herbs like roasted cumin seeds, black pepper powder, ginger, green chilies, fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, and curry leaves, making the drink more flavorful and delicious.
Chaas should be included in the daily diet every day after meals all around the year. Curd or yogurt has many health benefits and has a cooling effect on the body. People usually consume chaas during the summer. Chaas is packed with water, which helps the body recover from dehydration.
I share a Masala chaas Recipe seasoned with green chilies, ginger, black salt, salt, roasted cumin powder, pepper powder, fresh coriander leaves, and dry mint powder. Try using fresh mint leaves if available; it enhances the flavor. Ginger and black pepper help in digestion. The best cooling and refreshing drink to beat the heat.
To make this Masala Chaas more flavorful, I have given a smoky charcoal effect. The distinct flavor of charcoal makes Chaas more delicious and yummy. The chaas taste fantastic if served chilled, and you cannot resist drinking only one glass—a perfect summer drink. This Masala Chaas can also be enjoyed without a smoky charcoal effect.
Tempering can also be added to this drink if you like curry leaves and cumin seeds. Take a little ghee, cumin seeds, and curry leaves to a small wok and pour over the chaas. I have not added it, but trust me; this makes the drink more flavorful.
To save time, prepare the recipe of masala chaas thicker in a large quantity, store it in an air-tight container, and keep it in the fridge. It stays fresh for a week. Enjoy this drink anytime; take it out from the refrigerator, add cold water, give it a smoky flavor (if you like), add ice cubes, and enjoy.
In the market, Smoked Buttermilk or Smoked Masala Chaas Recipe is a trending recipe nowadays, and you have to pay quite a good amount from your pocket to enjoy this drink. From today don’t rush to the market to buy this drink; make it at home.
