  • Add 1 cup of yogurt and 3 tbsp of gram flour in a mixing bowl. Whisk until the mixture is lumps-free.
  • Add ½ cup water and mix well. Keep aside.
  • Add 1 tbsp ghee to a pan. Once the ghee heats up, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds crackle, add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp coriander seeds, three green chilies chopped, four dry red chilies, ½ inch chopped ginger, eight cloves, ½ inch cinnamon stick, ¼ tsp asafoetida, and a few curry leaves.
  • Saute for a few seconds or until it turns aromatic.
  • Add 1½ cups of water, and stir it well.
  • Cover with the lid and boil the water for 5 minutes.
