Make Crispy Masala Jeera Puri, a Flavorful Snack for Chai Time
Jeera Puri is a round, crispy, deep-fried poori made from maida (all-purpose flour) and infused with the aromatic flavor of cumin seeds. It is the most common, easy, quick snack recipe to relish at tea time.
Today, I am sharing a masala jeera puri that is a twist on the traditional Farsi puri. The ingredients required for masala jeera are all-purpose flour (maida), cumin seeds, sesame seeds, red chili flakes, oil, salt, and kasuri methi. The kasuri methi, sesame seeds, and chili flakes make this masala jeera puri more flavorful and tempting. To make it more savory, tasty, and tangy, sprinkle a pinch of red chili powder, chaat masala, and mint powder.
This masala jeera puri recipe is versatile, and you can experiment with any ingredient as per your taste and liking. If you are health-conscious, you can replace the all-purpose flour with multi-grain or wheat flour.
This masala jeera puri is an excellent snack option to relish with chai (tea-time), kids’ tiffin, a light snack at the office or home, and the best snack during travel.
Here are a few things that make this masala jeera puri excellent:
– It is crispy, flavorful, and easy to make at home.

– Ingredients readily available at home.
– It stays fresh and crispy for a month.
– It is the perfect crunchy jar snack for all age groups.

There are two ways to make these masala jeera puris at home. You can either individually roll out each puri and fry them or roll a large dough circle and cut them into small pooris with a cutter. The second option is much easier, quicker, and a time-saver. Remember to prick the puri with a fork so they don’t puff up while deep-frying in the oil.
If you are tired of eating the same jeera puri, this spicy (chatpata) masala jeera puri is worth a try. The correct proportion and ratio of ingredients are shared, making it easy for all to make this at home effortless.
